The trial of Lucy Letby was informed police recovered numerous handwritten notes from Lucy Letby’s residence after her arrest in July 2018.
On one notice proven to the jury, headlined ‘Not adequate’ she wrote: “I’ll by no means have youngsters or marry. I’ll by no means know what it’s prefer to have a household” and “I can’t breathe.”
TalkTV’s Dr David Bull and Nicola Thorp are joined by forensic Psychiatrist Dr Sohom Das who provides his verdict after a detective allegedly instructed Letby left notes in her residence ‘intentionally to be discovered by police’.
Dr Soham says he strongly believes that “this was one thing she deliberately left to be discovered”.

Looks like no one jumping on the "Lucy is a Monster" bandwagon has ever heard of "Freudian free association" or "catharsis" or is acquainted with the work of neo-Freudian Roberto Assagioli. Lucy must have encountered Freud in her days in her University days as part of her curriculum. I can well imagine her being tormented by the hyenas at work, alone with her thoughts unaware that the people she respected most were grooming her for the role of a "scapegoat" (for their own inadequacies).
Did any Cheshire Sherlock ever hear of Freud? I doubt! Of "Foul" yes!…
We must’ve been listening to two different people in trial. She was definitely smug and certainly not emotional unless you consider her feelings for herself. She showed emotion ONLY when it pertained to her. When HER bedroom was shown, she cried and she had no tears for all the babies endured. She showed a reaction when HER crush testified from behind a screen. She wanted to leave court then. The only time she showed anything at all it was for herself despite supposedly caring so much for these families and babies that she searched for them online during holidays and anniversaries of the babies’ deaths. She kept souvenirs in a heart shaped box and moved with them instead of shredding the documents when she did shred HER personal information and bills. She absolutely has psychopathy just by the fact she DID THIS. It makes no sense that he’s denying that unless he’s afraid to admit it would be mistaken as any other mental illness that might affect culpability and she might’ve been able to be sentenced to hospitalization rather than a prison sentence. She was in full control of her behavior. She demonstrated that by her insidiously attacking babies and hiding it. She is antisocial. She is not capable of being rehabilitated. That isn’t something that can be treated outside of a long term institutional setting where she’s continuously monitored. A hospital would be wasted on her. She won’t change.
Infertile thinking, narcissist, deep low self esteem, acute depression, and borderline personality disorder.
Oh she's evil allright narcisstic and manulative and enjoyed killing and attempting to injure those poor little souls 😡
It's unimaginable what she has been doing without being noticed. None of her co staff ever found her suspicious. Why no one saw the notes she were displaying in her room. She must have friends visiting her. I hope she is not saving anyone else and targeted as a bait to protect anyone else. She refused to confess and even refused to appear in the court. I have no sympathy for her but just wondering is it that easy to kill a baby and death is unexplained amd staff under duty were not questioned …not once but for years
Something about her just doesn’t add up for me. She says she’s innocent, her family and friends do too. Yet the evidence says she’s guilty. I find it odd she had no real mental illness, odd that she was functioning and normal before these murders. She is very much NOT a typical serial killer. The whole case sets my teeth on edge and makes me think there’s more to this story than the public has been told. Instinct tells me there’s something not quite right there. I can’t put my finger on it.
What I find intriguing is that in certain US States the lawmakers would have no trouble with killing babies of that age provided they had yet to pass through the birth canal. Yet once out, the fires of Hell rain down on their killer. Do we need to rethink our morals?
Why does the admittance part of the note start with talking about they? Who are they? : «They went ‘I DID THIS. I killed them on purpose because I’m not good enough to care for them. I am a horrible evil person. I AM EVIL. I DID THIS.’»
There is evil in this world and everyone is given the choice to resist or embrace it. The Christian ethic helps us to make the good choices – for love ; good!
A cruel sadist
How was she found guilty on the basis the police had no evidence, ?? They found scribbled notes under her bed and assumed she did it cos she was always on duty at rhe time. Is this solid enough to convict her
Lucy could have been a great nurse…
Because she is innocent
I feel the case was not investigated
If she was innocent she would be in turmoil why face a lynch mob convinced
It was her. WHAT WAS HER MOTIVE?
THESE BABIES NEED TO BE CHECKED
FOR MISSING BODY PARTS
I AM NOT SURE WHAT HAS TAKEN PLACE
SHIPMAN KILLED FOR MONEY LEGACY
MOST WOMEN ARE VERY PROTECTIVE
OF CHILDREN THE MATERNAL INSTINCT
KICKS IN
THAT'S WHY I FIND IT HARD THAT A WOMAN COULD BE SUCH A MURDERER
JUST DOES NOT FEEL THAT SHE WOULD
BE SO CAPABLE OF SUCH A HORRIBLE
Murderous campaign upon new born

SOME THING IS A MISS NOT WRIGHT
Is she guilty? She was convicted on circumstantial evidence. Years later, the Birmingham six and the Guilford four were also released, having been portrayed as monsters. As for not turning up to hear her sentence, why would she? Before the sentence there is a half hour tirade of abuse by the judge, why would she want to sit through that? She is convicted, but is she really guilty? Unless she later admits it, we'll never know.
We need to remember that our public organisations are being broken by successive governments in ideological regimes that want ever further efficiencies, many committed public servants are struggling to maintain services with integrity when top down management is not supportive. It all comes from top down. The doctors in this case worked tirelessly to bring this to justice. Which is hard to do when your livelihood is threatened for trying to speak the truth.
Trying to work out what her motivations were, even by mental health professionals is only just speculation.
The only person that really knows why she did what she did is Lucy. I do agree when the psychiatrist said that it probably was a combination of factors, whether or not she fits the mould for being a psychopath she clearly had a complete lack of empathy, how else could she done such acts.
I think your review would carry more weight if a woman psychologist/psychiatrist had been invited to give an opinion rather than this bloke.
Lucy Letby wanted childten of her own with her married doctor boyfriend she told him she loved him in a phone txt hecwouldnt leave his wife ofc25years and his children to livecwuth her in the house she had moved into
So are we saying she's normal? Because no normal person would do this.
Just quackery… these so called psychologists, I’ve worked in a mental health setting for over 25 years, my next door neighbour is as much as likely to kill someone, we are still a million miles away from mental health stigma
There was another nurse that did the same thing a few decades ago. She was moved from prision to a mental hospital "because her mitigating circumstances was that she had Munchausen disorder/disease." What a load of crap!!! When they interviewed her, she KNEW FULL WELL WHAT SHE DID, AND KNEW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RIGHT AND WRONG!!!
Letby is one ‘weird’ looking individual……more like a mtf! Than a biological female.
This clinician is ironically /alarmingly not very clever / confusing the public. I think he was attempting to be controversial with a view to having a moment of fame. In fact he is alarmingly ignorant, chaotic and contradictory. Letby is evidently a sociopath. There is no other explanation. She has zero empathy. Cowardice? Really? As a regulated practitioner this man has a code of ethics and conduct to adhere to – this interview is irresponsible / strange. Sociopathy is an antisocial personality disorder and Letby has showed us (repeatedly) that she has no regard for right and wrong and ignores the rights and feelings of others (entirely) when she commits awful crimes. Evil does not exist. Mental health does and Letby is very unwell, unstable, detached, narcissistic and sociopathic. A person who does not have sociopathic personality characteristics would simply not be capable of doing what Letby did. A mentally balanced person would not behave / action what Letby did.
What constitutes making a person a sociopath? A lack of conscience and empathy, disregard for rules and norms, and impulsive and aggressive / passive aggressive tendencies – are all typical traits of a sociopath. These traits make a person more likely to use, exploit, abuse, or harm other people, so many sociopaths are dangerous people to allow into your life.
Talk TV this is unprofessional
I agree with the Torys we need to destroy the NHS sell it to there mates for cheap
After the first few deaths, they should have installed hidden cameras. Tragic that so many had to die due to the neglect of managers. What about the manager who told the Dr she would be responsible for deaths and put Lucy back to work to be able to kill again. Has she been held accountable?
There is insufficient or no evidence that Lucy actually committed the killings. There were no eye witnesses or direct evidence to suggest that Lucy killed anybody. It The judge failed to provide a judgment detailing how or why he convicted Lucy together with the jury's verdict. We have no idea whether there is proof beyond reasonable doubt of her guilt. All the evidence is circumstantial and very flimsy. The inexperienced junior doctors are far more likely to have been negligent with the tubes and the lines on the babies and then handed the dying babies to the four nurses to carry the blame?
We need a new a government and new laws, we don’t need to hear of a doctor
She has psychopathic and sadistic traits and she does have a personality disorder.
Notes as Evidence ? What proof is there that Lucy's Notes can be taken as "evidence"…….there is NOTHING in her Notes that suggests her guilt. The pressure she was / is under would be sufficient to cause her to write disturbing things……..roll on her Appeal.
……"secret code" ?? LO mistaken for LD ……. this mistake seized upon and used against her as "proof" of her wrongdoing. The non – appearance of Lucy when her sentence was passed could be simply that she was too distraught to be in a mega stressful situation, especially bearing in mind that she believes in her innocence.
It really doesn't make sense how they can be doing these horrific things like it's just their normal routine, just mind boggling
It’s the police professional standards who are letting us down. They are liars cheats and corrupt. They are not fit for purpose and something needs to be done about them.
