I once had Louen Leonocre get run down by Nurglings because my Pegasus Knights failed a fear test and wouldn't charge them on the rear. Poor Louen went in alone and killed like 10 nurglings. Took 2 wounds, got beat in combat resolve because of fear and rank bonus. Rolled mutant snake eyes for my retreat distance. Nurglings rolled a 6. Bad times.
Oof, Fear took a big nerf, no more "automatically break if losing vs an outnumbering foe". Skeletons and zombies better get some other buff to make up for that, as that was basically their only linebreak method.
Would've been great if they covered Panic tests in this article.. Kinda wanna know if panic tests from destroyed units within 6" is a thing or not. It has such a huge impact on the game. Warhammer Armies Project did it quite well with requiring a destroyed unit to have 10US to trigger panic tests in nearby friends.

This news makes me happy and sad, on one hand it seems like a lot of thought went into this which is good. On the other hand it makes me disappointed that this much thought didn't go into Heresy 2.0
Nathan, these update videos are a great idea especially for anyone who is coming to The Old World from the Total War Warhammer games, also I'm finding them useful as well.
I'm glad that they showed the break test example, and said some more about what the different outcomes were. I think this is going to be such a huge change, that people haven't fully appreciated that winning combat through static combat res isn't necessarily going to get you that far, because losing units are much less likely to flee – so actually killing the enemy becomes that much more important.
