For me the only thing that worked was actual SSRI medication. It's been like putting on brain glasses. I feel 100% better after being depressed and anxious for years. I tried everything before that.
Depression is a b6 vitamin deficiency. I learned this when I was in my under-grad program for mental health and clinical counseling. I decided that the field as a whole was not for me and walked away from it because I disagree 1000% with shoving medicines down the throats of people when there are natural food-based treatments and remedies.

You say that high rates of MTHFR in Italy prove that there must be an environmental factor, but then state low stress , completely ignoring that they do not supplement Synthetic Folic acid in Italy,
It’s important not only to take methyl folate, but to avoid synthetic liver damaging folic acid which all flour is fortified with
200mg elemental magnesium from magnesium glycinate + 10mg vitamin B6, seriously this is the best cure for depression / stress relief there is. Most people who do not take vitamin supplements are deficient in magnesium. (do not recommend exceeding 25mg B6 from all supplements as it can cause severe side affects in higher amounts), a low strength multi vitamin is also a good idea.
Lol I took the tiniest drop of methylfolate last summer. Slowly through the day I became more and more agitated to the point I could've picked a fight with someone over the smallest non issue. It was insane. And I had a date that day hahaha that was fun explaining my mood to this poor girl. Over methylation is not fun.

Just remember, as this guy says he knows better than doctors, there will soon be another guy coming along that say they know better than him. This society is sick and wouldn't need to be so hyper neurotic about their disfunctions if they didn't create them to begin with. So just be as natural and happy and God fearing as you can and forget all these know it alls.

This has been know for over 20 +years…especially pregnancy—stay away from folic acid…..FYI [MTHFR SUFFER] could be A riboflavin issue….also besides folate

Spinach in the fifties used to have 100% of your daily iron content in one bowl.
It would now take 200 bowls of spinach or some such amount to get you 100% of your daily iron intake.
Our food is starved for nutrients and so are we. The soil is sucked dry and companies do not care as long as it makes them money. Sustainable, fertilized veggies are vitamin rich and better for our bodies to run on.
That's why those who eat organic still get cancer and other illnesses. Half the pesticides still doesn't enrich them with vitamins.
Also, folate versus folic acid is two very different things. Eat folate in food, not folic acid.
Any vitamin deficiency will cause it, I never felt so good as when I started taking vitamin D, and I live in the UK

Nutritionist's and Dietitians are the worst professions on the planet. Purveyors of misinformation based on a junk career…literally think they know more than an actual medical scientist that does actual studies showing actual results.
Its these people that push fake diets for a billion dollar industry and run on ideas 20-50 YEARS outdated…like "a calorie is a unit of energy that can be measured"…it isnt, and it cant. In fact, even over the last 40 years science knew that what they were calling a calorie was not even an equal thing as eating 10 calories of an avocado provided more energy than 10 calories from grapes and that an cooked celery stalk had almost 3x the calories as an uncooked stalk of celery.
What about poor nutrition of the mother while pregnant?

I never did prenatals with my babies. Good eating and beef organ supplements instead. Now they are telling women to keep taking the prenatals during breastfeeding, too. That and hormonal birth control 6 weeks after birth – no wonder woman are going crazy after birth.
