Isn’t this just common sense. If you don’t have mental health problems, you will never think of them because you don’t have them. Yea people that don’t think about mental health are more mentally healthy because they don’t have any mental health problems to think about.
So not true. Before I met my wife she was a bit batshit crazy. She prioritized her mental health and attend multiple therapy sessions a week for a number of years. She became the most mentally stable person I’ve ever met. Great mother great wife great friend and great human being. Her name was Jill.
Agree to disagree on this one. I'm trying to break generational trauma so my girls can have a better mom than I had. One of the ways to aid that is focusing on my mental health and it's an active choice every day to try to do better.
True. It's like a fit person never saying "I'm prioritising my fitness." or a wealthy person never saying "I'm prioritising my investment portfolio." They don't say. They just do.
If I didnt start thinking about my mental health I would probably still sleep in a carboard box in my living room for "reasons". You are lucky to never have major issues but because of that please dont try to speak on them.
I've never said that statement in my 43yrs….I don't see the point. When I'm down in any way, I just sort it out myself, in my mind, without having to consciously think about doing it or saying it to ppl.
Show me a woman who has been ab*sed and r*ped by her father as a child, who will say, " Oh well, sh*t happens." Matt, you say a lot of interesting things, but this time you're taking bull.
it's survivor bias – it's not that they are healthy because they don't care – they don't talk about mental health because they just happen to never had a problem with it out of luck or a good surrounding
Another classic Matt Walsh garbage take. Just cause some people abuse mental health to cover up for character problems doesn’t mean it’s not important and should not even be examined as part of holistic health. Way to look like an absolute asshat.
I don’t know about this one. I struggle with depression and I do things to make it not surface constantly but I don’t talk about is that what Matt is talking about or? I just find it harsh and yes some people do whine and be a big baby etc . I’m just trying to understand.
People are missing the message. My brother is not most self aware guy. He has no understanding of depression and trauma He's like a child in a grown Mans body.
He does not understand why I have insomnia and what is trauma. "Just stop thinking about it". He has excellent mental health. He's immune to depression
i disagree… im a social worker and im sorry but because of the people i deal with i need to prioritize my mental health. The people who never need a minute are hiding or surpressing it… not healthy!
unless they already have a diagnosed mental health disorder that they need to avoid certain situations that will trigger it. yes there are a lot of fakes out there that ruin it for the rest. using it for attention, usually negative. what she does tho is not to announce it to anyone except those who already know about it and yet, not even then most of the time.
The meaning I got is people who are busy doing healthy things never have to worry about their mental health. Of course, many jobs do take a toll on even the strongest minds because it's death and suffering–anyone with a heart would be affected.
Well, now I'm thinking this guy has NPD or is some type of sociopath… …because those are a few examples of people that would negate what he is saying, and would say what he is saying
Well, you can't argue the numbers. 99.2% of all mentally ill people in the world live in the US. 98.9% of SSRIs are taken in the US. You can also drill down on what part of the US is taking these drugs. 80% of California, New York, Massachusetts, Maryland & Illinois are on at least 2 mood stability drugs. There are more people with mental health diagnoses in LA than the rest of the world outside the US.
I think we can all agree the majority of serial deleters and mass pew pews never thought of their mental health. Never prioritized it and look at the damage. How are they um….way mentally healthier??
I'm all for mental health if you suffered traumatic event(s). I have too many in my childhood, so I'm in long-term sessions.

Matt did you forget to take your black rifle coffee?

Psychopaths have never uttered that phrase.
Its like saying: the most cancer free people in the world are those who never touched chemo or radiation therapy!
Like, are you even FR at this point, lol? 😂
Ofc they didnt, because, plot twist, most of them are mentally fine to begin with.
Its ridiculous.
In a stong field, this is up there for the stupidest thing on the internet.
I totally agree!! A lot of mental health issues are self inflicted after listening to a therapist or social media 'therapist '.
I've never said that statement in my 43yrs….I don't see the point. When I'm down in any way, I just sort it out myself, in my mind, without having to consciously think about doing it or saying it to ppl.
It's called a 'cat'. It worked for Russel Brand.
In my country we have a neat thing called 'sunshine'.

The actual key to mental health is staying off social media 😉. But we’re all guilty 😂
Mental health is a real thing but you can’t make it an excuse to do whatever. But seriously you should get some help if nothing else works.
Literally 90% of issues would go away if people would stop talking about them
A lot of depressed people don’t care about taking care of their mental health.

I never thought about having cancer, and i dont have cancer. My 3 year old nephew has a more logical mental process.
Thank you Matt! I needed to hear this at this exact moment today

I put my mental health first& foremost. Depression& anxiety is the killer
You can like matt while still acknowledging this was a shit take 😂
I go fishin'
Complete and utter BS. Taking this advice can lead to suicide!
Guys, if you struggle inside, find someone and tell them, try to get help.
I dunno man avoiding trauma is not healthy for anyone

Hey genius. Schizophrenics never question their mental health. How. can you be wrong so often?

HHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHA…..
oof
Overly simplified take on a large and endlessly complex topic that does nothing to help anyone.
you might want to check that against what your Jewish paymasters are telling you to say.
